Brisbane Airport (BNE) is located 17km west of the city centre. It can be a short 20 minute drive by car or taxi without traffic but we recommend you allow double that during peak traffic times and longer if you’re taking the bus or a shuttle. Parking is available for both long and short stays.
Cairns Airport (CNS) is located 6km north of the city centre and a major transport hub for visitors to North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. It is a short 15 minute drive by car or taxi. There is also a bus service by Sun Palm Transport, which runs a shuttle service to the airport from Port Douglas, Palm Cove and Mission Beach. Both long and short term parking is available at the airport.
As the gateway to the World Heritage Listed sites The Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns offers an abundance of beauty and adventure. From here you can also explore Port Douglas and the Atherton Tablelands.
Snorkel, swim, and lie on the beach at Green Island or take a cruise to the outer reef and explore the spectacular under water coral gardens and beautiful marine life. A day trip to the Daintree Discovery Centre at Cowes Bay will have you walking among the tree tops; you might even see the giant endangered Cassowary along the way.
Back in Cairns, treat yourself to some of the freshest seafood from the Coral Sea at restaurants along the Esplanade, or stop in at one of the pubs and enjoy the live music culture.
Brisbane is a popular, laid back destination for a holiday, with easy access to the sand and surf of the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast including the vibrant Surfers Paradise.
Culture vultures can wander the galleries, museums and restaurants at the South Bank, and over 700 shops and cafes at the Queen Street Mall. Check out the wildlife at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon, or make a day trip out to Australia Zoo.
For adventure, climb the Story Bridge or kayak on the river. If you like sports, then support your team at Suncorp Stadium or the iconic Gabba. At the end of the day, have a beer at the many pubs and clubs around Brisbane.
