There’s plenty of ways to travel the 20km north from Brisbane city centre to the airport. Catch the Airtrain, or the Con-x-ion Airport Transfer Bus from Brisbane’s CBD. Or if you’re looking for a stress free option, take a taxi to the airport for close to $35. Brisbane’s two terminals are over 3km apart, so make sure you head to the right building.
Just 11km from the city centre, the journey to Perth Airport does not take long. Catch the Transperth shuttle to the airport for only $5, or take a taxi for close to $40. If you prefer the comfort of your own car, you can park in the airport’s long term carpark for $25 a night. Perth Airport has several terminals; however, a free shuttle bus makes it easy to make your way from one to another.
Brisbane is a laid back city with a growing arts and culture scene. Lovers of nature, music, and the arts will feel right at home in Queensland’s friendly capital.
Brisbane is awash with parks, sun and sand. Head to the botanic gardens for 56 hectares of subtropical plant life, including a collection over 300 bonsai. Visit Alma Park Zoo or Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to get up close and cuddly with native Australian wildlife. If you like your nature without the crowds, head to Moreton Island. Only half an hour drive from the city, you can surf, snorkel, or scuba and then relax with a fresh seafood banquet.
Culture hunters will enjoy attending the endless stream of festivals that take over Brisbane city every year. The Brisbane Festival is known for entertaining shows and family friendly atmosphere, while Brisbane’s Internal Film Festival features cutting edge cinema from around the world. For the music lovers, Brisbane’s Valley Fiesta and Future Music Festival draw scores of world class acts for attendees to enjoy.
Perth provides unparalleled access to the best beaches, valleys, and marine life that Australia has to offer. Each nearby region boast its own cocktail of wildlife, wineries and water.
If gourmet food and local batch beer get you excited, you’ll have an endless amount to see in WA. Head to Swan Valley to experience Australia’s oldest wine region, and visit over 150 wineries, distilleries, and breweries. Next head to Margaret River for wine with a view. Here, boutique breweries and world class wineries serve their creations a short stroll away from sea cliffs, surf, and sand dunes.
Nature lovers won’t need to go far from Perth centre to get their fill. Kings Park, a national wildlife sanctuary covering over 400 hectares of land, starts on the CBD border. Resplendent with native species, there’s plenty of places to share a picnic with a kangaroo. Travelers should also take the short ferry trip to Rottnest Island to see Perth’s most famous (and cutest) native animal – the quokka. Stay the night at Hotel Rottnest or camp out and stare at a sky full of brilliant stars.
No matter what you love tigerair will fly you there, with cheap airfares from Brisbane to Perth, and Perth to Brisbane. Save on flights all your round, and spend when it counts – your holiday!
