The easiest way to travel the 20km from Brisbane’s CBD to its airport is to catch the Airtrain or Con-x-ion Airport Transfer Bus from the city centre. Airtrains depart every 15 minutes during peak hour and start early in the morning. If you don’t have time for public transport, take a taxi or drive to Brisbane airport and park your car from $10 per day.
Getting from Proserpine Airport to your hotel can be a little tough. Your best bet is to book a bus ticket ahead of time. The bus, priced from $15 per person, leaves regularly outside the terminal. Other options include hiring a car, or searching for a taxi outside the terminal.
Those searching for an endless stretch of beachside paradise will find the Whitsunday Coast an ideal destination. Whether you prefer adventure or relaxation, marine sports or marine life, there’s a holiday life you’ll love in the Whitsundays.
If you’re dreaming of dining, deck chairs, and relaxation then start your journey in Airlie Beach. The hub of the Whitsundays, Airlie Beach features laid back cruises, air tours, and a clear blue lagoon. If you arrive in July or August, you can also check out the Whitsunday Reef Festival, or the Airlie Beach Race Week where over 100 yachts sail past the city. Next, head to Hamilton Island for snorkeling, golfing, and wine. One of Australia’s most romantic destinations, visit Hamilton Island Yacht Club for a late night feast by the water’s edge.
For those that prefer to be in the water than to look at it, Hook Island has plenty of sea life to leave you speechless. National park and snorkeling and diving hot spot, there’s an endless amount to explore. And of course, visitors to the Whitsundays can’t go home without a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Stretching 2300 kilometers, this world heritage area is so large it can even be seen from out of space. Without over 5000 types of marine species, you could spend your entire trip in the reef alone.
