Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport (MEL) is 23km northwest of the city, about half an hour’s drive by car or taxi. You can park your car in long or short term parking or if you prefer, take the Skybus from the city centre.
Adelaide Airport (ADL) is 6km west of the city centre; a short 15 minute drive by car or taxi but allow up to an hour if you’re taking public transport. Parking is available for both long and short stays.
Passengers can use the JetBus service for pick up and drop from the airport. The JetBus travels to the city, Glenelg and the north-eastern suburbs. A public bus service is also available via Adelaide City through to the north/eastern suburbs.
With its many museums, galleries, and theatres, Melbourne is a city awash in culture. Add trendy dining, hip nightlife and sophisticated retail options, and you couldn’t be blamed for wanting to stay here just a little bit longer than you should.
Wind your way through the trendy laneways and sample some of Australia’s best boutique cafes and bars; or jump on a tram and shop till you drop at the huge Queen Victoria Market. The charming city of Adelaide welcomes visitors with its beautiful green parks and historic buildings from the Victorian era. The family friendly beaches of Henleys Beach and Semaphore, as well as the seaside village of Glenelg are easily accessible from the city.
Some of the world’s most famous wines come from this area of South Australia. Take a day trip to the wineries and try Riesling in the Clare Valley, Shiraz in the Barossa, or Bordeaux in Kangaroo Island. Food and wine enthusiasts can also sample a vast array of produce from the region such as fresh seafood, gourmet cheeses nuts and dried fruit at the Adelaide Central Markets.
Wild-life enthusiasts can explore Cleland Wildlife Park, the Adelaide Zoo, or head to Kangaroo Island and walk amongst the sea-lions at Seal Bay.
