Travelling with infants and young children
Any adult travelling with an infant under two years is permitted one check-in baggage item with their fare. Infants under two years of age will not need to purchase an adult fare to sit on the guardian's lap. A fee of $30.00 applies per child under two per flight segment for domestic travel. We are unable to accept newborns less than seven days old for travel.
Every child travelling between the age of two and six is entitled to one free check-in baggage item. They are required to occupy a seat onboard and the applicable fare, taxes, fees and charges will apply.
Acceptable check-in items for adults travelling with infants under two as well as children between the ages of two and six include:
- Strollers or pushers
- Infant car seats
- Portable highchairs
- Any further requirements will need to be purchased as part of check-in baggage.
- Infant equipment, including but not limited to prams, buggies and car seats, can be carried in the hold of the aircraft. Tigerair are prepared to carry one such item on a Limited Release (i.e. at your own risk for damage or delay) basis free of charge. You may wish to ensure you have suitable private insurance cover for such items.
Travelling with teenagers
Customers aged between 12 to 15 years of age may be accepted for carriage unaccompanied on request by a parent or legal guardian at the point of check-in. Parents or legal guardians must remain at the airport until the departure of the flight. Prevailing laws of each country may differ in respect to the carriage of unaccompanied children and young persons. Persons aged 15 years and above may travel unaccompanied.
Escort and special facilities are not available. Children below 12 years of age must be accompanied on the same reservation by a passenger 15 years of age or above, or a parent or legal guardian, who will take full responsibility for the child. Proof of parent/legal guardian status must be shown at check-in.
